M/S Viking Cinderella from Stockholm to Mariehamn

Viking Line reached a record in the number of passengers during the summer season. One reason for the increase was the focus on multiple tours of Helsinki-Tallinn route. More than 2.3 million passengers traveled with the red and white vessels in June to August. That's an increase of almost nine per cent compared to the same period last year.

It was the first extra tours with M/S Mariella and M/S Gabriella from Helsinki to Tallinn gave the passenger the amount of proper lifting. The number Tallinn travelers increased by over 176,000 to over 775,000 during the three summer months. There is a rise of nearly 30 percent compared with the same period last year.

- We are very pleased with the insertion of extra trips to Tallinn in summer. Passengers have clearly found this alternative between Helsinki and Tallinn, and felt comfortable on board our ships, says Viking Line CEO Jan Hanses.

Travel between Sweden and Mariehamn increased slightly and the other routes, the number of passengers was stable during the summer. The number of passengers on the route Stockholm-Åland-Helsinki was stable with 329,000 passengers, an increase of 0.6 percent from the corresponding figures in the previous year (327,000). On the route Stockholm-Turku-Åland traveled 673 000 passengers, or 2.5 percent less than in the corresponding period last year (690,000).

From June to August the over 253 000 travelers going on a cruise with pleasure vessel M/S Viking Cinderella from Stockholm to Mariehamn. Compared to last year, the number of passengers by 4.2 per cent (243 000). On route Mariehamn Kapellskar was Rosella number of passengers in the summer to 308 000 passengers, or nearly seven per cent more than the summer before (288, 000).


Besides the number of passengers, the number of passenger cars by nearly ten percent compared to last summer. While cargo volume increased in all routes by nearly ten percent.
